Justice JS Khehar today took oath as the new chief justice of Uttarakhand High Court.
At a simple ceremony at Raj Bhavan here, governor Margret Alva administered oath of office and secrecy to justice Khehar, who was the judge of the Punjab and Haryana High
Court.
Chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and his cabinet colleagues along with senior bureaucrats and police officials were present on the occasion.
Justice Khehar takes over from justice VK Gupta, who recently retired as chief justice.
