Justice Karnan passes 'judicial order against 8 judges', to plead his case in ICJ

Former Calcutta High Court judge, Justice Karnan has done it again. This time he's written a letter to the registrar general of the Supreme Court of India saying, "I have passed a judicial order against 8 convicted accused/anti-social element/terrorist Judges namely, Former CJI JS Khehar, CJI Dipak Misra, former justice Chelameshwar, justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Madan B Lokur, justice PC Ghose, Justice Kurien Jospeh and Justice R Bhanumati."

He further states, "Now I am taking necessary accelerated steps to broach my case before the Hon'ble International court of Justice for relief , since the matter is still hanging fire and unable to settle in India." 

Earlier, Justice Karnan was found guilty of contempt of court after he named 20 sitting judges as corrupt and wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate a probe. The seven-judge bench of apex court had on May 9 last year passed the order sentencing Karnan to jail by holding him guilty of contempt of court and ordering the West Bengal police to take him into custody.  This happened when 12 advocates on record refused to represent him and finally senior lawyer Mathews J Nedumpara agreed to represent him in the Supreme Court to recall the arrest order. He had to subsequently do jail time. 

Earlier, In an interview to Wion, he was  Asked whether he was ready to tender an unconditional apology to the apex court, Justice Karnan said, “No..no..no..no. They are contemnors. Yesterday, I passed judicial order and I declared that all seven judges are contemnors...all seven judges are accused under the SC/ST Atrocities Act...further directed the Registrar General not to allot any administrative or judicial work  to the honorable judges because they are accused under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.”

In the past he's received backlash from all sides for his letter to the prime minister, Senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani called his behavior lunatic who must meet his fate.  Former attorney general Mukul Rohatgi even requested the supreme court to initiate contempt of court proceedings for his “scurrilous” letters against sitting and retired judges of the Supreme Court. We will wait and see as to what his fate will be after this letter reaches the judges of the apex court.
