Google’s global entrepreneurship outreach division is in the valley and has organised a first of its kind event, G/Kashmir that looks to connect with Kashmiris and provide them with the latest offerings of the internet giant.
“Featuring customised content, the G/Kashmir event will equip participants with tips, tricks and tools win digitally. The event will provide training on using digital tools to spur technology innovation, business and entrepreneurship in Kashmir,” reads the web postings of G/Kashmir.
“YouTube enthusiasts will get expert advice on how to create and market content. Kashmiri entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to present their business ideas and get tips on how to take their ideas forward. One can engage with an international Google team and get the chance to ask questions and enjoy an exciting day with top peers, experienced mentors and experts,” it adds.
Gowhar Bhat, Project officer, Mercy Corps that has got the technology giant to the valley, said the event is a non-government initiative for market assessment in Kashmir.
“They are here to interact with students, IT developers, entrepreneurs and others. Basically they are here to see how they can leverage the services”, he said.
G/Kashmir, according to web postings, will feature technical and non-technical content, including useful tips and information on the latest Google products, platforms, tips and trends of Google business-focused tools. It will feature three main tracks for participants’ to choose what best suites their needs.
“There is something for everybody,” Bhat added.
