A lecturer was reportedly expelled by the college he worked at after he put up a Facebook post about alleged gender discrimination at Farook College, Kozhikode.

Mohammed Shafeeq CP, who says he worked as a lecturer in Sullamussalam Science College in Areekode, Kozhikode wrote about the issue on his Facebook page called Freedom Azad, “I am Mohammed Shafeeq. CP and I am dismissed from Sullamussalam Science College, Areacode for suppoprting ‪#‎DinuVeyil‬ of Farook college through a Facebook comment.”

A report in Malayala Manorama states that when Shafeeq asked the college why he was being expelled, he was told that it was because of his Facebook post about the issue at Farook College. However, he did not receive any official notice on the expulsion, he told the media. “What shall we tell those who see something wrong when a boy and a girl are seated together? It is a far more dangerous situation than the loss of my job,” he stated.
