A day after three persons, including an ATS constable, were shot dead by a suspected SIMI activist in this communally sensitive town, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said today that all efforts were being made to ensure that the culprit was arrested soon and brought to the book.
"We will not tolerate this and steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not repeat," Chouhan told reporters here.
Lauding the role played by the slain police constable Sitaram Batham (32) in cracking the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) network in the state, Chouhan said as a result of this, several activists of this organisation have been arrested.
Chouhan announced a financial help of Rs10 lakh to the family members of Batham and Rs5 lakh each to the other two deceased. Besides, he said that a family member each of the deceased would be given an employment.
Earlier, Chouhan paid final respect to the mortal remains of the deceased and took part in their last rites.
