Kolkata Metro train damaged in fire

A train of Kolkata Metro railways was damaged after catching fire near Dum Dum station but the Tuberail services remained unaffected.

An air-conditioned train of Kolkata Metro railway was damaged on Wednesday in a fire inside its Noapara car shed near Dum Dum station, metro rail sources said.

Alarmed at the smoke billowing from undergear with sparks detected, fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the fire. The fire was doused in a 40-minute operation. Tuberail services remained unaffected, officials said.
