Koshal state in Orissa gains momentum

Koshal Kranti Dal would organise a rail roko programme in the first week of January and call a western Orissa bandh in the second week of January.

The Telangana effect has touched Orissa too, where demands for a separate Koshal state in western Orissa has gained momentum.

Pramod Mishra, chairman of the Koshal Kranti Dal, said the party would organise a protest rally before Raj Bhawan on December 23. It would also organise a rail roko programme in the first week of January and call a western Orissa bandh in the second week of January. Later, rallies would be held before Rastrapati Bhawan and Parliament House in New Delhi. The Koshal Kranti Dal has sought support from MLAs of all parties to press for creation of the separate state.
