PATNA: Sadhu Prasad and Subhas Yadav, brothers-in-law of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad tried to make two trains, including the Rajdhani Express, to pull up at platforms of their choice at Patna station for journey to Delhi.

While Subhash Yadav succeeded, his brother was persuaded to relent.

Subhas Yadav, RJD Rajya Sabha member, allegedly pressurized railway officials at Patna junction to bring the Rajdhani on platform number one on Tuesday to spare him the 'inconvenience' of crossing an overbridge to board the train to Delhi.

According to the entry in the register by the station manager of Patna junction, Subhas telephoned to direct him to have the Rajdhani, which normally pulls up at platform number four to do so at platform number one.

In deference to the MP's wish, the train stopped at platform number one and RPF and GRP officials were alerted for security purposes, the entry in the register said.

Sources said that Railway Board officials telephoned those at the Patna station to obey Subhas' order. Sadhu Yadav and Subash Yadav were not available for comment.

Reacting to conduct of Lalu's brothers-in-law, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told reporters "this is an example of how the Railways are shining under Lalu. Probably… He (Lalu) wants to run the ministry as he did Bihar for 15 years."
