Former minister and Kerala Congress (M) leader, MLA KM Mani today alleged that the law and order situation in the state was in "total shambles".

Speaking at a meet-the-press programme here, Mani alleged that there was no rule of law in the state, and the people were concerned as there was no security to their life and property.

Mani said the CPI(M) did not learn any lesson from the rout it suffered in the Parliament elections.

"The health and education sector in which Kerala was a model state, has now worsened," he added.

He said the ASEAN-free trade pact was generally good for the country. "If the price of any commodity falls due to the pact, Centre has assured to compensate it by implementing necessary projects," he added.

Alleging that the LDF government was not interested in the development of the state, he charged that Kerala was losing its mega projects like SmartCity and Metro Rail.
