BJP veteran L K Advani's daughter Pratibha kick started her father's election campaign from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat today.
"Like everytime, I will help my father in campaign this time as well," Pratibha, who had also campaigned for her father for 2009 elections, told reporters.
She also claimed that Advani had never said no to fighting elections from the Gandhinagar seat. "He (L K Advani) had never said 'no' to fight from Gandhinagar seat. We have a long association with Gujarat. It is like our home. Dada (father) can never say no to the Gandhinagar seat," she said, replying to a question about Advani's reluctance to contest from the Gandhinagar seat.
As per reports, Advani initially wanted to contest elections from Bhopal, and not his Gandhinagar seat from where he has been elected as an MP five times, but the BJP shot down his wish and told him to contest from his traditional seat.
During the roadshow conducted in Bopal area on the outskirts of the city, Pratibha was accompanied by Gujarat revenue minister Anandiben Patel. Pratibha said that the campaign would be intensified after filing nomination forms in Gujarat from April 2. Advani, who is likely to file his nomination papers on April 5, had won the last Lok Sabha election in 2009 with a margin of more than 1.20 lakh votes from the Gandhinagar constituency.
