'Love Guru' Matuknath Chaudhary, who shot into fame after he walked into a classroom with his student-cum-girlfriend to give a lecture on love, has been dismissed from the post of reader of Patna University.
The university syndicate which met here yesterday terminated his service after taking into consideration the report of an inquiry committee, PU vice-chancellor Shyam Lal said today.
The syndicate unanimously said that his acts had "not only brought disrepute to the teacher-student relationship but also tarnished the image of the university," PU pro vice-chancellor SI Ahson said.
The Hindi teacher remained under suspension from the post of reader in the Hindi Department of BN College for over three years and his explanation to the show-cause had remained "far from satisfactory" ever since he demonstrated his love for a student, Julie, University sources said.
Matuknath, first earned the univesity's wrath when he walked into a classroom at the BN College with Julie and delivered a lecture on love in July 2006.
Choudhary hit the headlines five years ago after his wife assaulted him and Julie in full public view with the locals smearing his face after the two were found together in a room.
Chaudhary had filed nomination during the last Lok Sabha elections from Patna Saheb constituency. His nomination was, however, rejected on some technical points.
When contacted, Choudhary said he would move an appropriate court seeking quashing of the dismissal order.
"It is an unfortunate and illegal decision. I am consulting my lawyers to challenge the order", he said.
