Madras IIT student to work with Bill Gates' core team

BANGALORE: An IIT Madras student has been selected for a one year internship with Microsoft wherein he will work directly with the software giant's founder Bill Gates' technical assistants' team in Redmond.

 

Abishek Kumarasubramanian was selected after seven months of "rigorous competition" under an initiative named 'Code4Bill', which was announced by Gates during his last visit to India, Microsoft Corporation India said in a statement on Wednesday.

 

"This team comprises the world's best technologists who formulate and drive Microsoft's technical strategy," the statement said.

 

Over 20,000 students had reportedly registered for the contest, which included three online technical challenges, and two rounds of one-to-one interviews.
