Vote counting will take place on November 23, with the results expected to be declared the same day.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, which will see all 288 seats contested in a single phase on November 20. Vote counting will take place on November 23, with the results expected to be declared the same day.

According to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Maharashtra has a total of 9.63 crore eligible voters, comprising 4.97 crore men, 4.66 crore women, and 20.93 lakh first-time voters. The state is divided into 36 districts, and the assembly consists of 299 seats—234 General seats, 25 reserved for Scheduled Tribes, and 29 for Scheduled Castes.

This year's Maharashtra Assembly elections are highly anticipated, largely due to the significant political turmoil over the past five years. In the 2019 elections, the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition—comprising the Congress, NCP, and a united Shiv Sena—secured victory. Uddhav Thackeray, then leader of the Shiv Sena, went on to become the Chief Minister.
