In a bizarre incident, a man sitting on an elephant was stoned by some children in Memnagar for no known reason. The man fainted on the elephant itself. What, however, followed was a scene that resembled a comedy Bollywood flick. The officials of 108 emergency service had to use two ambulances to get the man off the elephant.

Gujarat University police registered the incident as a non-cognizable offence. Police said that, at around 12 pm, the man was passing from near Memnagar fire station. Officials said that some children threw stones at the elephant and the mahout. Couple of stones hit the mahout hard who collapsed on the elephant itself.

"We got a call at 12:24 pm that a man had fainted on an elephant. Because of some address problems, we sent two ambulances to get the man. However, when we reached the spot, the situation was a bit complex," said Jayesh Gupta, regional manager, 108 emergency services.

Gupta said that the man, Uddesh Tiwari, was lying unconscious on the top of the elephant. He said that the elephant seemed angry and nobody dared go near it. They then fed the elephant with banana to calm him.

"After feeding the elephant with bananas, we tried to make it sit down but were unable to do so. We then stationed an ambulance next to the elephant and from the top, we brought Tiwari down to the ambulance. He was rushed to VS Hospital," Gupta said. Gujarat University police inspector SJ Vaghasiya said that Tiwari refused to lodge any criminal offence. He further said that Tiwari's condition was stable.
