The Kerala state committee of United Trade Union, a body of eight trade union organisations, today urged the working class and democratic forces to make the proposed March 5 nation-wide agitation for implementation of various demands, a success.
Talking to reporters, AITUC leader Kanam Rajendran said the main demands included steps to control price rise, protection of right to work and non-disinvestment in public sector companies.
He said over 10 lakh people would participate in the agitation across the country. As a part of the nation wide agitation in Kerala, dharnas would be organised in all the districts.
Trade union leaders have also extended support to the one-day strike called by various Motor Vehicle workers association tomorrow, protesting against the hike in petroleum products.
