A man who saved a three-and-a-half-year-old boy from being attacked by his father died of stab wounds at the hilly hamlet of Elerithattu, about 60 km from here, police said today.
The boy's father was drunk and he tried to attack the child following a quarrel with his wife last night when Santhosh (32) staying in the neighbourhood, intervened.
While Santhosh succumbed to his injuries, the man has been arrested, police added.
