She spilled the beans about the murder after police grew suspicious about her

In a horrific end to a love story, a man's second wife (he was in a live-in-relation with her) allegedly killed him after he favoured his first wife and transferred his pension documents in her name. According to Aslali police, Dhayabhai Chauhan, a retired auditor with the Gujarat government was murdered on Saturday morning.

When police began investigations, they were told by Chauhan's wife Usha that some people killed her husband while he was on his way to Surat. But the police found too many loopholes in the story and began questioning her further.

They also talked to Chauhan's neighbours and friends. The interrogation revealed that the couple was in a live-in relation although they had been living as husband and wife for a long time and even had a daughter from the relation.

Chauhan was earlier married to Pali in Surat and had three sons from the relation. "After we questioned the neighbours and friends of the victim, we zeroed in on Usha. She broke down during interrogation and admitted to killing Chauhan," said AB Vanand, PSI Aslali police station. Usha revealed that earlier she was friends with the victim and later began living with him in Aslali. She said she had supported him during a lean phase in his life and had even helped him a lot.

However, Chauhan retired some time ago and since then began favouring his first wife. This was just the beginning of the issue. "Soon the fights turned nasty after Chauhan transferred his pension documents and other properties in the name of his first wife and sons," said the police. Police said that she hired two men, whom she knew, to help her in the sinister plan.

"On Saturday morning when Chauhan came out of the house to
leave for Surat in the early morning, Usha twice hit him on his head with a hammer. The victim at that time was near the Adarsh High School.

When Chauhan fell down two of her men beat him to death," Vanand added. Vanand said Usha has been arrested and cops are on the lookout for her accomplices.
