A local court has sentenced a man to rigorous imprisonment for seven years for raping a minor girl seven years ago.
Kendrapara Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ambuj Mohan Das convicted 28-year-old Satrughna Jena yesterday and imposed a fine of Rs5,000.
Failure to pay the fine would entail an additional six months imprisonment.

Das had raped the girl on January 4, 2006 in Sapalanga village under Rajkanika police station when she was alone at home.
