VARANASI: A man who had sent a threatening email to President APJ Abdul Kalam on Monday night committed suicide at a lodge here, police sources said.
Kumar Arjan Das Harchandani, 35, a resident of Maharashtra, committed suicide by hanging himself at the lodge at Sigra locality at around 8 pm, they said.
The sources said Harchandani was mentally unstable and was undergoing treatment in New Delhi.
He had sought the President's intervention to resolve a property dispute with relatives but on not hearing anything from Kalam sent the threatening email, according to the sources.
