Delhiites today experienced a cold morning as the mercury plummeted sharply to around 8 degrees Celsius after remaining above 12 degrees for the last couple of days.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.3 degree Celsius as against yesterday's 12 degree Celsius. The minimum was recorded at 13.3 degrees on Sunday.

A Met department official said a slight cloud cover brought about the rise in mercury levels in the last couple of days.

"The cloud cover has gone today and that is why the minimum temperature dipped further," he said.

The Met department forecast a misty and foggy morning tomorrow with the minimum and maximum temperatures expected to be around seven and 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

During the past week, the temperature in the city has been oscillating between 10 and 25 degrees Celsius.

The season's lowest of 7.9 degree Celsius was recorded last Saturday, which was also the lowest for the month of November in the past three years.
