Mercury drops, cold conditions intensified in Jammu & Kashmir

Famous hill resorts of Gulmarg in north Kashmir and Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 12.4 deg C and minus 7.6 deg C.

Cold conditions intensified in Jammu and Kashmir today as mercury dipped in many areas of the state due to clear sky overnight.
   
Kargil and Leh districts in Ladakh region recorded a minimum temperature of minus 17.4 degrees Celsius and minus 16 deg C.
   
Famous hill resorts of Gulmarg in north Kashmir and Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 12.4 deg C and minus 7.6 deg C.
   
Srinagar had minus 2.2 deg C, two degrees below normal. The city had recorded minus one deg C yesterday.
   
Night temperature also fell in other places in the valley with Kupwara in north Kashmir recording a low of minus 4.9 deg C followed by Kokernag at minus 2.4 deg C. Qazigund recorded a minimum of minus 1.8 deg C.
   
Mercury also fell in Jammu region with the city recording a low of 5.8 deg C, five degrees below normal.
