Minor girl raped in Jammu

A minor girl was allegedly raped by two youths in a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, police said in Jammu on Wednesday.

The victim, a standard XI student, was abducted by Monu Chib and Mangu Ram alias Manga on Tuesday while she was on way to her school in Gagrote village at Nowshera area, they said.

The youths took the girl to a nearby forest and raped her, police said.

After hearing cries of the victim, some passerby rushed to the spot and rescued the girl, they said, adding that the accused, however, managed to flee.

A search has been launched to nab the culprits.
