A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Kashmir Valley in the wee hours of Tuesday but there was no report of any damage from anywhere.
"Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred at 0203 hours with the epicentre at Indo-Pak border at Latitude 34.8 degree North and Longitude 73.7 degrees East," a spokesman of the Meteorological office said.
The tremor was felt when most of the people were asleep and therefore triggered no panic reaction. There was no report of any damage or casualty due to the tremor so far, police said.
