In a controversial remark Tuesday, BJP MP Harish Chandra Dwivedi accused people within the Muslim community of being narrow-minded for failing to see the commitment of Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath government towards inclusive development.
"Our government is concerned over development of all and expects support from all, he told reporters, invoking the 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' slogan on the sidelines of an event in Basti.
But there are some people who are not rising above their narrow mindset and do not see any good in either the Modi or the Yogi governments, he said.
"I want to make it clear to such people that we are not doing development for their votes but since Modi ji is PM and we are in government, it is our duty to carry out development for all, he said.
I want to ask such people to rise above narrow-mindedness", he said.
When reporters asked him to identify them, the Basti MP said, "These are people from the Muslim community. Among them there are some who works permanently against the BJP, he said
