A fire broke out in the Air India building at Nariman Point in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.
A Mumbai Fire Department official said that it received a call from the Air India building early in the morning. "We received a call at around 6.41 am that a fire had broken out on the 20th floor of the building," he said. The fire brigade sent 10 fire tenders to the spot to douse the fire. "Rescue work is in progress," the official added.
Although, no known casualties have been reported so far, ambulances have also been sent to the spot. Given that it is a commercial building filled with offices, it is likely that there were very few people in the building at that hour.
The cause of the fire is not known yet, and the police is investigating the matter.
