What seemed like a routine pest control measure on February 2, at Charkop’s Ajanta Pharmacy, left 18 employees with burning sensations in their eyes.
While they brushed it off as an immediate effect of the chemical treatment that was done at their office and returned to work the next day on February 3, little did they know their decision to get to work would land them in the hospital by evening. The 18 employees, including two women employees, who complained of unbearable burning sensations were admitted to Oscar Hospital in Charkop in the evening.
Dr. Satish Vanve of Oscar Hospital told iamin, “The condition of all the patients is normal as of now. We will discharge most of them in the morning of February 4, except for a few, who we think might need to stay under observation for a little longer.”
Charkop police has registered a case against the company and is currently investigating the matter.
When iamin approached the company and the affected employees' families they refused to comment on the matter.
