Narada CEO writes to CBI against cop harassment

In his letter to the CBI, he has complained about the 'disrespectful behaviour and continuous harassment' allegedly meted out by the Kolkata police.

Following another call by the Muchipara Police Station in a case of an extortion call to an MP of Bihar, Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel has written to the Central Bureau of Investigation saying that he is being harassed by the Kolkata police. He also alleged that it was a conspiracy by the Trinamool Congress and the state administration to frame him.

In his letter to the CBI, he has complained about the 'disrespectful behaviour and continuous harassment' allegedly meted out by the Kolkata police. The letter states that Kolkata police summoned Samuel six times and was trying to frame him 'as a witness to a mysterious, fabricated case soon after the Narada sting hit the ruling party'.

He also said that he thought Kolkata police didn't want him to cooperate with the investigation into the sting operation which the CBI was carrying out under the instruction of the Calcutta High Court. He requested the CBI to ensure his safety and that he is relieved from the 'unnecessary harassment'.

In March 2014 Samuel had carried out a sting operation on top TMC leaders and ministers who were seen accepting money on camera from the reporter who had posed as the representative of a fictitious company
