Narendra Modi calls for wholehearted participation in jubilee fest

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has called upon the people of Gujarat to wholeheartedly participate in the celebration of the state's golden jubilee and make the moment a glorious and historical one.

A meeting of the Swarnim Gujarat Empowered Committee was held in Gandhinagar under the leadership of finance minister Vaju Vala, where final touches were given to the arrangements made for the programmes to be held on April 30 and May 1- the  day of the state's formation 50 years ago. Ministers were also delegated responsibilities of various programmes that have been planned for the historic event.

Health and tourism minister Jaynarayan Vyas will be in charge of the NRI/NRG convention, to be held on April 30 at the GMDC hall, Ahmedabad.

The responsibility of arranging the programmes of garlanding the statues of the late Induchaha in Ahmedabad and the revered Ravishankar Maharaj in Gandhinagar on May 1, have been given to revenue minister Anandiben Patel and the Ahmedabad Municipality. Home minister Amit Shah will be in charge of the programme of paying tribute to martyrs at Lal Darwaja and similar routines at Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati.

Urns filled with soil and water of different regions of India will be kept at the under-construction Mahatma Gandhi temple. Saurabh Patel will be responsible for the same. Social justice and empowerment minister Fakir Vaghela and IK Jadeja, will be in charges of the main programmes.
