Modi has harped on what his BJP government has done in sectors such as health, education, drinking water, road connectivity and power supply.

Modi has addressed as many as 21 public meetings in different parts of the state for Thursday’s district and taluka panchayat, and municipality polls. And in all the meetings, he has touched upon the issue of development, besides attempting to strike an emotional chord with rural voters over his ambitious Sardar statute. Thursday will see elections to 24 district pnchayats, 208 taluka panchayats and 53 municipalities. While the BJP is in power at over 80 percent of these bodies, the Congress controls the rest.

In all his public meetings, Modi not only highlighted what the BJP government has done or is doing for people but also seized the opportunity to hit out at the Congress. He stressed that the BJP government had focussed on the five-point development mantra of ensuring better facilities in the sectors of health, education, drinking water, road connectivity and uninterrupted power supply.
