Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar today had a closed-door meeting at the latter's ashram in Anklavdi village, 12 km from here.
The meeting, which lasted over 40 minutes, was held to discuss programmes to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, officials from the Chief Minister's office said.
Ashram spokesperson Mehul Sharma told reporters that Modi had come to Anklavdi for meditation, and the meeting with Ravishankar was personal. "Modi came for a courtesy visit. Whenever Guruji (Ravishankar) is in Gujarat, Modi visits him," Sharma said.
"Guruji does meditation in the morning, and Modi also joined him. There was nothing political about the meeting." Congress leader Digvijay Singh had recently alleged that while Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare were "plan A and B" of the RSS and BJP, Sri Sri Ravishankar was "Plan C".
