Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah today gave his confidant Nasir Aslam Wani, a minister of State, the additional charge of the Home department.
Wani, at present Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development and Tourism, will be deputy to the Chief Minister who also hold the Home portfolio.
"Omar today gave responsibility of the MoS Home portfolio to Wani and orders to this effect were issued," Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Divender Rana told PTI.
Wani was elected from Srinagar's Amirakadal constituency.
