Claiming that the infighting in the ruling BJD was at its peak, opposition Congress today said the Naveen Patnaik-led government will not complete its five- year term.

"The infighting in the ruling BJD will further intensify which will lead to collapse of the government. This government cannot complete its five-year term," Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly and senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra told reporters while reacting over the expulsion of BJD vice-president Prafulla Ghadai.

Stating that corruption and scams are coming to the fore on daily basis, Mishra said, "The BJD will collapse like the Yadav family in Mahabharata."

"This (expulsion of Ghadai) is beginning of the end for BJD. The infighting is a constant factor in the ruling party as there is no inter-party democracy in the BJD," Mishra said adding that he was optimistic about collapse of the BJD government before its tenure till 2019.

While welcoming Ghadai for his act of "exposing" Patnaik, senior BJP leader Bijay Mohapatra said, "Who ever speaks truth in the BJD will be axed by Patnaik." Dubbing Patnaik as an "insecured" politician, Mohapatra said: "The situation in the BJD will take explosive form soon as leaders are totally disgusted over the leadership."
