"Need Nitish govt for Bihar's development,'' PM Modi in open letter to voters

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, PM Modi posted a four-page letter written in Hindi addressing the people of Bihar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote an open letter to the people of Bihar on Thursday, which marked the end of the last day of campaigning for the third and final phase of the Bihar Assembly Election 2020. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, PM Modi posted a four-page letter written in Hindi addressing the people of Bihar.

He wrote in Hindi, "People have faith that only NDA government can develop Bihar. It is a matter of pride that the focus in Bihar polls is on development. The NDA presented its report card and shared its vision for the future."

"Better infrastructure, rule of law imperative for social and economic prosperity and only the NDA can provide that in Bihar. NDA has done work in all sectors in Bihar -- electricity, water, roads, health, education and for law and order, further added PM Modi. 

He wrote that only the NDA can provide better infrastructure and rule of law imperative for social and economic prosperity in Bihar.

Asserting that reforms are impossible in an environment of mismanagement and anarchy, the PM added, "I have full faith that power of 'double engine' will take Bihar to new heights of development in this decade. Reforms are not possible amid mismanagement and anarchy. The Nitish Kumar government is needed in Bihar to ensure development schemes continue uninterrupted."

A total of 2.35 crore voters will decide the electoral fate of more than 1,200 candidates on the final phase of polling on November 7. It will cover 78 constituencies spread across 19 districts in North Bihar.

The Prime Minister addressed 12 rallies in the state for the Assembly Elections.

Meanwhile, Ahead of the final phase of polling in the Bihar Assembly Election, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced that this would be his last election. Addressing the people during an election rally in Purnia, he also said: "All's well that ends well".

The JD(U) chief said, "Remember, today is the last day of campaigning, and day after tomorrow is the election...This is my last election...all's well that ends well." 

Campaigning for the third and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections ended on Thursday evening.
