PM Modi finally responded to the Sanatan Dharma remark made by MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi, saying that there needs to be a “proper response” against it.

Days after the controversy broke out, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the ‘Sanatan Dharma’ row sparked by DMK leader Udhayanidhi. Apart from this, PM Modi also spoke about the ongoing India vs Bharat row, where opposition has alleged that the country might be renamed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asked ministers to counter Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Santan dharma remarks.

During the meeting with Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Modi asked them to react strongly on Stalin's remark, indicating that the saffron party is set to make it a national issue.

Prime Minister Modi is said to have advised them to refrain from speaking on the Bharat-India name change row. He advised all ministers to download the G-20 app ahead of the Summit that will help them to interact with the foreign delegates.

In view of the Summit, the Union government has launched the app which can be accessed in all languages and will be functional till the country hosts the event.

For the G20 dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu on September 9, the Prime Minister advised the ministers shun VIP culture, assemble at Parliament and then reach the venue by bus. The ministers were also given a presentation on the Summit.

Meanwhile, the Opposition has alleged that the Centre feels threatened by the name of their recently formed INDIA alliance, and is now putting forward a claim saying that the Centre is planning to propose a name change for the country – from India to Bharat.

The INDIA alliance has claimed that the move to change the name of the country will be put forward during the special Parliament session set to be conducted in a few days, but the Centre has issued no comments regarding this.
