With life slowly returning on the track, trains have also started running now. The Indian Railways has announced to operate several trains in the upcoming festive season. IRCTC is going to operate Tejas Express between Lucknow and New Delhi from October 17. However, many new rules have been changed due to COVID-19. The adjacent seat in the Tejas Express will remain empty, and passengers must apply face shield. IRCTC has issued a guideline for traveling on the Tejas Express.
Passengers will sit only on the designated seats
According to IRCTC's guideline, it is mandatory to use a face shield to travel in Tejas Express like the airline from October 17. Due to COVID-19, the seat next to the passengers will remain empty. Passengers must also wear gloves during the journey. Passengers will sit on their seats even if the seat on the train is empty. You will not be able to change your seat during the journey. Passengers must reach Lucknow Junction at 4:30 am to travel on the train. This train leaves from Lucknow junction for New Delhi at around 6:10 am. Passengers will get packed food in this VIP train.
Passengers will get the COVID-19 security kit
IRCTC Public Relations Officer Siddharth Singh said on Thursday that passengers need to install the Arogya Setu app to travel on Tejas Express. Passengers will also be given necessary directions at the time of booking of tickets. All passengers will be given a COVID-19 safety kit. The kit will have a hand sanitizer, face shield, mask, and a pair of gloves. Hands will also be sanitized with all passengers' thermal scanning before entering the coach to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Apart from this, the luggage of passengers will also be sanitized as done at the airport.
