In a bid to give thrust to tourism infrastructure development, Kerala government today decided to form a new company that would focus on promoting private investments.

In a bid to give thrust to tourism infrastructure development, Kerala government today decided to form a new company that would focus on promoting private investments and take up Public Private Partnership (PPP) model projects.
   
The Tourism Resorts Kerala Ltd (TRKL), a subsidiary of Kerala Tourism Developemnt Corporation, would be delinked from the parent company and re-constituted as Kerala Tourism Infastructure and Investment Corporation Ltd, chief minister VS Achuthanandan told reporters here.
   
TRKL managing direct Mansoor said though the company in its present form was taking up tourism promotion projects, there was no focussed attempt on its part on infrastructure developemnt. Now the new company would focus on infrastructure developemnt, he said.
    
TRKL had already initiated ten tourism projects in the tourist spot of Velli here with a total outlay of Rs100 crores, he said.
    
The tender process to identify private partner was progressing, Mansoor added.
