New Delhi: A new video has emerged from Delhi's Tihar Jail showing minister Satyendra Jain eating food from multiple containers inside his cell. Jail sources told the news agency ANI that he has gained 8 kilograms since he was lodged in the jail, contradicting his lawyer's contention that he lost 28 kilograms.
The minister, lodged in jail in a money laundering case, is in the dock for allegedly availing VVIP treatment inside the prison, violating several rules. Earlier this week, another video showed Jain receiving full-body massages inside the Tihar Jail.
In the purported videos, Satyendar Jain can be seen getting back and foot massages as he read documents. He also appeared to be talking to visitors while lying on a bed. In the backdrop, mineral water bottles could be seen.
Under attack from the opposition BJP, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed the minister had been taking physiotherapy sessions to relieve the pain he was having due to an old injury. He also said that the BJP was mocking the minister's injury.
On Tuesday, however, it emerged that the person giving a massage to the leader was not a medical professional but a rape accused.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala claimed the man's name is Rinku and he is in jail under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
“Rape accused Rinku was giving massage to Satyendar Jain. Rinku Accused under Pocso and IPC 376. So it was not a physiotherapist but a rapist who was giving maalish (massage) to Satyendar Jain! Shocking. Kejriwal must answer why he defended this and insulted physiotherapists,” Poonawala said in a tweet.

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia demanded that Jain should resign as minister. He also demanded an apology from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
According to reports, Rinku's daughter had accused him of raping her.
On Tuesday, the court sought the response of the Enforcement Directorate to a plea by Jain claiming he was not being provided with food items like fruits, dry fruits, and dates as per his religious beliefs.
A source told the news agency PTI that the video negates his claims before the court.
The BJP and the AAP are locked in an electoral fight in Gujarat.
