In this regard, Gautam Budha Nagar Suhas LY will take a decision on Thursday after holding a meeting with the officials.

Just after the Uttar Pradesh administration announced a night curfew in several cities including Lucknow, Varanasi, and Prayagraj, it is expected a similar decision might be taken for Noida.

While there is already a night curfew in adjoining Delhi, the rising number of cases in Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida) may also force the district administration to impose strict restrictions in the region. The surge in single-day cases in Noida has now crossed 100.

In this regard, Gautam Budha Nagar Suhas LY will take a decision on Thursday after holding a meeting with the officials of the Health and District Administration. Along with the night curfew, the closing of secondary schools may also be announced after the meeting. It is expected that the administration will give a go-ahead to both.

Notably, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday held a review meeting with the officials through video conferencing to prevent COVID-19 infection in 13 sensitive districts of the state. He instructed that in districts where the number of corona-infected patients is 100 per day or more, the district magistrate should take decisions in relation to the closure of secondary schools considering the local situation. An appropriate decision should be taken in relation to controlling night movement in such districts, but in no circumstances should the transportation of essential materials like medicine, food grains, etc. be interrupted.

In view of rising cases of COVID-19, a night curfew has also been imposed in UP's capital Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi with effect from Thursday night.

Yogi Adityanth has also called a meeting on Thursday evening to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the state.
