The Northern Railway has announced the resumption of 39 Mail or Express special trains. The decision was taken for the convenience of the passengers as many are off to tourist destinations after the unlock process began in several states.
Northern Railway said it will resume services of three pairs of trains from July 21. The Vande Bharat Express train running between New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in both directions will be back on track from July 21 until further notice. In addition to this Hazrat Nizamuddin-Jhansi Gatimaan Express and Jabalpur-Haridwar Weekly Special trains will also become operational.
Train number 02191 Jabalpur-Haridwar Weekly Special will be restored from July 21 to December 29 whereas 02192 Haridwar-Jabalpur Weekly Special will run from July 22 to December 30.
Prior to this, the Indian Railways decided to restore the services of 50 unreserved Mail/Express trains under the Northern Railway. The Northern Railway asked travellers to adhere to all COVID-19 protocols during boarding, travel, and at the destination amid the ongoing pandemic.
The Northern Railway, in a note, said, "All norms of the State and Central government regarding COVID-19 including social distancing, sanitisation, etc may be followed in the trains and at the railway stations. All other precautions associated with Covid-19 should also be ensured."

Passengers can also visit the Indian Railways official website - www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in for other details regarding the travel, the Northern Railway said. All passenger trains of the Indian Railways were suspended since March 2020.
Earlier, the South Western Railway had announced the resumption of 6 suburban trains from Bengaluru city to its suburbs from July 15. The South Western Railway zone had said that it would restart services of five sets of MEMU trains as well as introduce another set of MEMU trains from July 15, 2021.
