The app will give vital medical information regarding healthcare sevices near the passenger's location.

While travelling by train, a worry for passengers is whether there will be any medical assistance available at any point. Now, a tech start-up has developed an app called 'RailYatri' which will help a person locate all medical facilities near their location while travelling.

The New Indian Express quotes Manish Rathi, CEO and co-founder, RailYatri.in, as stating that thousands of medical emergencies arise during train journeys in our country but no one has really thought about solving the problem. Details like the hospital name, contact numbers and the distance from the existing station to the hospital can be gotten via the app.

The location of where the user is vital that determines the details provided. Manish also told the daily that the information provided through the app is not just limited to hospital names, but to provide direction from station to the hospital, contact numbers of hospitals and ambulance services.

He recounted how a 73-year-old suffered breathing problems on the train and when he was taken to a government hospital at the next station, there was no cardiologist there. The patient managed to survive the health scare but this app would be a big help for all elderly who have health issues.
