In view of the vulnerability of the area, Jammu and Kashmir government has ruled out shifting of security forces from the tourist resort of Watlab in Sopore area of Baramulla district.

"The shifting of security forces from Watlab is not being contemplated at present keeping in view the vulnerability of the area from the security angle", chief minister Omar Abdullah said today in the Assembly in a written reply to a question of his own party MLA Mohammad Ashraf.

He said adequate security forces need to be located there to keep a check on the movement of militants and other anti-national elements.

Watlab is located on Bandipora-Sopore road, 65 kms from Srinagar.
