In a freak accident, a 33-year-old man was killed after his car rammed into a slum area on Ashram road.

In a freak accident, a 33-year-old man was killed after his car rammed into a slum area on Ashram road.

According to Naranpura police, one Jagdamba Prasad, 33, got crushed between the steering wheel and side door of his Alto car after causing an accident near Chandrabhaganagar on Sunday evening. 

At 8pm on Sunday evening, Mishra was coming from Subhash bridge in his car with his wife Shraddha and two children Prachi and Tushar. While driving towards Gandhi bridge, Mishra lost control of his car near Chandrabhaga nagar of Vadaj, located opposite to Dandi bridge, and rammed in to the slum locality after jumping off the barricades of the road. Due to the impact on the right side of the car, Mishra was crushed between the steering wheel and right door.

After learning about the accident, other commuters and locals called 108 and started rescue operation. They pulled put Mishra's wife and children immediately and sent them to civil hospital for further treatment. However, it took very long to pull out Mishra, who was already dead, as his body was stuck in the car.

Apart from Mishra, a resident of Tith Bhumi society in Isanpur, and his family members, two persons of that area also got injured in the accident. According to the locals, the Alto car first hit a hand cart, which may have came in the path of the car on the road, and then rammed in to the slums.

According to police, one Panchal Bhaiyaji, the hand cart owner and a 10 year old kid Vishal Dantani, playing near his house, also got injured in the accident.
