A video shared by a Pakistani journalist is doing the rounds where he has alleged that Indian soldiers are torturing innocent people in the Valley had been debunked by SM Hoax Slayer, a fake news busting site, who has said the torturers are actually members of the Pakistani army.

The video shared by Hamid Mir was retweeted 10,000 times after he shared it on Twitter, However, SM Hoax Slayer, whose real name is Pankaj Jain, subtweeted the story saying, “Being a journalist and spreading #FakeNews doesn't go hand in hand sir, in-fact both are just the opposite.  The soldiers torturing are yours, not Indian, so the irony. You have achieved approx 10,000 retweets. check the video from 17 secs - 21 secs. check reply for proofs (sic).”

Earlier, Mir had claimed that the video was  from Kashmir, hinting it’s Indian soldiers who are torturing Kashmir civilians and said this is why India is not ready to talk with Pakistan and so Pakistan will ask India about this.

However, if you look at the video closely, you can see that the soldier has the Pakistani flag on his chest. You can watch it in the video clip from 17 seconds to 21 seconds.

Interestingly, the video was shared in July this year by the spokesperson of the Balochistan Republican Party, where he was highlighting the torture endured on a Baloch citizen by Pakistani soldiers.

Earlier, India on Friday cited the "brutal" killing of three policemen in Jammu and Kashmir as well as the release of the postal stamps "glorifying" Kashmiri militant Burhan Wani for calling off the meeting between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart Qureshi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York this month.
