After keeping the country on tenterhooks for nearly an hour, PM Modi had announced the successful test of an anti-satellite missile (ASAT) in his address to the nation.

Deputy Election Commission Sandeep Saxsena, who heads the committee, said that they are examining three aspects of the matter — MCC, law and media.

He said the committee had written to Doordarshan and All India Radio seeking details of the source of the video feed. "The committee has had two meetings — one yesterday and one today...We are going into the entirety of the matter to see if there was a violation," he said.
