The parents of the Hyderabad-based student, who has been seriously injured in an attack in London, on Saturday sought government's help in getting visa at the earliest so that they could visit their son.

Praveen Reddy, pursuing MBA final year in the London School of Business Management, was attacked by a group of people at his home (at around 9.30 as per IST last night) when he was celebrating the birthday of one of his friends, they said.

"London Police told us this morning that our son was stabbed and thrown out from the window of the three-storied building," father of the victim, K Sudhakar Reddy, a businessman, said in Hyderabad.

Police told us that they have admitted Praveen in a hospital and that his condition is serious. Though they have already taken into custody ten persons in this regard, it is still not clear how this incident happened, Sudhakar Reddy, a resident of Vanasthalipuram area in Hyderabad, said.

"I want to visit my son with family members and hence request the government through the media to help us in getting visa at the earliest," Sudhakar Reddy, who is ailing, said.

"Praveen spoke to me and his mother yesterday. He was supposed to come down to Hyderabad on February 17 to attend a marriage," he added.
