Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Saturday termed the Pathankot terror attack as a "mysterious incident" and claimed that the IB was already aware of the presence of militants in the town.
"Pathankot attack is a mysterious incident, especially when the Intelligence Bureau already knew that terrorists have entered the town," Singh told reporters here en-route to Indore. "Where was Punjab Police SP (Salvinder Singh), his jeweller friend and cook between 12 am to 3 pm," he asked, adding it's a major question considering that the militants set the trio free but killed the SP's driver.
"I have been saying this for long that Punjab Police officers, leaders, especially of Akali Dal, are involved in the smuggling of gold and opium. They are involved in the 'game of corruption' since long," he alleged. Alleging that NSA Ajit Doval was absent when the Centre was holding a discussion on whether to start talks with Pakistan, he said, "It is surprising that the person in-charge of country's security was not visible while the Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister talked for hours but could not reach a any decision on whether to hold dialogue with Pakistan.
"I want to know whether the government has given the entire responsibility of the government to Doval," Singh asked.
