In an early morning attack, comedian Kapil Sharma hit out at PM Modi for lack of ‘acche din’. The comedian claimed that he had been paying Rs 15 crore income tax for the last five years and still had to pay Rs 5 lakhs as a bribe to the BMC.
He wrote on Twitter: “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi. Yeh hain aapke achhe din ? @narendramodi”
During the 2014 elections, the BJP had used Acche din aane waale hain (Good days are coming) as their primary slogan to indicate that a prosperous future was in store when the BJP came to power. These days, the term is often used by Modi’s numerous critics to hit out at him.
Congress Spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi backed Sharma's comments.
Comedy Nights alumni Navjot Singh Sidhu recently left the BJP and on Thursday launched his own party the ‘Awaaz-e-Punjab’.
