Today's results of the civic elections in Maharashtra showed that politics of money propagated by Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Pawar had been rejected by the people, BJP said.

Today's results of the civic elections in Maharashtra showed that politics of money propagated by Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar had been rejected by the people, BJP said.

"The polls have also shown that BJP-Shiv Sena-RPI alliance is the real lifeline of Mumbai," leader of opposition in state legislative council, Vinod Tawde, said.

"The results have shown that people of Maharashtra have rejected the politics of money propagated by Ajit Pawar," the BJP leader said, talking to reporters here.

Asked if the Sena-BJP would seek the help of MNS to retain power in Mumbai, Tawde said, "This is an issue to be considered by senior leaders like Sena chief Bal Thackeray."

Tawde's statement against Ajit Pawar came after the known detractors of the deputy CM, such as BJP leader Gopinath Munde and Congress minister Narayan Rane, ensured good performance of their parties in zilla parishad polls in Beed and Sindhudurg districts, respectively.
