People react strongly on Twitter to Babri Masjid demolition sting operation

Just two days before the first phase of elections, Cobrapost has come up with another sting operation related to the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992. The Cobrapost sting operation shows that the demolition was well planned and senior BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and the then UP chief minister Kalyan Singh knew of it.

The sting operation says the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Shiv Sena openly talked about the conspiracy, which was well planned and not a spontaneous act by a frenzied mob. It says the cadres were specifically trained for the mission.

Writing to the Election Commission shortly before Cobrapost was to hold a press conference here, BJP sought a bar on its contents being made public.

"We have met the EC and have asked to stop the broadcast of sting so that elections can be peaceful," BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was quoted as saying by CNN-IBN.
