A PIL was on Thursday filed in the Delhi High Court seeking a direction to CBI to register a case of cheating and corruption against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Education Minister Manish Sisodia and Aam Aadmi Party for allegedly misleading citizens by making "false" promises in election manifesto.

The court is required to decide a constitutional issue as to whether making false declarations in election manifesto to secure votes of the general public amounted to cheating and criminal breach of trust, petitioner advocate M L Sharma said.

The issue of false declaration by "misusing" Chief Minister's office for political gain amounted to corruption is also needed to be decided, the petition said while questioning AAP govt's statement on reducing electricity charge by 50 per cent from January 1.

It also spoke of AAP government's failure to set up 'Janlokpal' by December 29 as "promised" in party's poll manifesto.
